The all-new Midmark Ritter 228 Barrier-Free® Examination Chair is the next generation of the Ritter 224. It lowers to a 17" seat height that meets the 2024 US Access Board standards, then rises to a 37" working height for comfortable exams.

- Gas spring backrest: squeeze either release handle to recline from upright to flat

- Extendable 16" footrest takes the chair from 60" to 76" long
- Hideaway stirrups, 5¼° pelvic tilt and a heated drawer (92°F to 112°F) (228-002, 228-003)
- Outlets on both sides and Active Sensing Technology®, which stops the chair if it meets an obstruction (228-002, 228-003)
- Clean Assist Rollers let you roll the chair out for cleaning (228-003)
- Rail accessory receivers and a tool-free spline for accessories
- Works with automated vital signs devices like the Midmark Digital Vital Signs Device
- 500 lb (227 kg) patient capacity
- Contoured or Flat headrest, in Standard (20 colors) or UltraFree (10 colors) upholstery

Upgrading from the Ritter 224?
- Lowers to 17", 1.5" lower than the 224
- Meets the 2024 US Access Board standard of 17" or lower

- Same 500 lb capacity, 37" working height, backrest travel and upholstery colors as the 224
The 224 meets the 2017 standard (17" to 19"). The DOJ and HHS have signaled they plan to adopt the 2024 standard of 17" or lower.
