The Difference Between 224 and 225 Midmark Power Tables

The Difference Between 224 and 225 Midmark Power Tables

When it comes time to purchase a new exam chair for your practice, you’ll have many options and brands to choose from. Each has its own benefits and unique qualities.

But, of all the different brands, Midmark power exam tables are some of the best.

Of course, you’ll still have to decide which model makes the most sense for your practice, patients, and budget.

Read on to learn more about the difference between two popular models, the 224 and 225 Midmark power procedure tables.

Benefits of Midmark Power Tables

Midmark power tables are some of the best on the market because they are designed to make healthcare more accessible. These Barrier-Free tables allow medical staff to access the patient from every angle, allowing the patient to remain in place.

Both the Ritter 224 and 225 Barrier-Free exam chairs offer low and high positioning heights. This versatility allows your staff to provide the best care to all patients, including the elderly, expectant mothers, or patients with disabilities and/or mobility issues.

These examination chairs by Midmark adjust in height from 18-37 inches, improving accessibility to the exam for patients and staff alike. At the same time, a Ritter Barrier-Free examination chair also reduces the likelihood of staff injury because of its versatility.

All Midmark power tables come with these standard features:

  • Foot Control to make patient positioning quick and effective.
  • Accessory Receivers designed to make the integration of accessories easy.
  • Stirrups + Pelvic Tilt* to help position patients properly and comfortably.
  • Tamper-Resistant Receptacles* provide a power connection for ancillary devices.

*Please note: These features do not come as a standard on the Midmark 224-001 model.

Both the 225 and 225 models also offer a 500-pound patient weight capacity and come in a variety of colors to match your office decor. Other commonalities include:

  • adjustable low and high heights
  • built-in pillows
  • hideaway stirrups that lock in one of four lateral positions
  • foot extension shelves to expand the table length
  • paper roll holders hidden under the headrest
  • storage for one 24" x 3.56" diameter paper roll

There are also a number of optional accessories to add-on based on your practice’s needs.

This includes the IQvitals®  Chair Mount that is designed to fit all Midmark and Ritter exam chairs. With this feature, you can bring all vital signs captured (including weight) to the point of care and port them directly into the EMR. This can save over a minute per patient.

Midmark 224 Power Table

Midmark 224 Power Table

While the two Midmark power tables have a lot in common, there are a few differences to note. Mainly, when it comes to additional features.

The  Ritter 224 is designed with a power base but does not come with a power back. Rather, this model has a gas spring-assisted back section with an easy access backrest mechanism.

Midmark 225 Power Table

The major difference between the two models is that the  Ritter 225 is designed with a power back. The power back system further improves accessibility to the exam chair. Being able to easily adjust the back can also help staff better evaluate and reduce the risk of injury.

Powered movement of the back of the Midmark 225 power table helps ensure the patient's back is supported. This can be beneficial for promoting proper patient positioning and taking a more accurate blood pressure ‭measurement.

Because of this additional feature, the Ritter 225 is slightly more expensive than the Ritter 224 model.

Preparing for the Future of Patient Care

No matter which Midmark power table you determine is right for you, your practice can benefit from making your services more accessible and efficient.

The patient demographic in the United States is quickly shifting. An estimated 26% (one in 4) of adults in the United States have some type of disability and 13.7% of people with a disability have a mobility disability.

As the population in the U.S. continues to age and disabilities only become more common, your practice needs to be proactive to serve as many people as possible. Don’t wait to begin providing your patients of all abilities with the best possible care.
